Subject: [TMG] Victorian GUM TMG Workshop (Australia)
Date: Fri, 12 Sep 2003 20:24:36 +1000
All GSV and GUM members, and all current or prospective TMG users,
It's time again for the annual Victorian GUM TMG workshop next weekend
(Sunday 21st September).
What: The Master Genealogist Workshop
When: Sunday 21st September 2003
Where: Mount Waverley Community Centre
Opposite Mount Waverley Railway Station
Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley (Melway Map 70 E1)
Parking: Car park off Holskamp Street
When: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (tea/coffee from 9:30)
How much: $11 (includes a free light lunch)
TMG 5.09 is out, and only a few features are yet to be released. That means
that full release as a boxed product is probably not far away. Many people
have now made the transition from TMG 4.0 and other programs. Others are
planning the process.
This year, the workshop will cover a range of topics, but will focus on
helping you get your existing data into TMG, preparing for, and producing
reports. The concepts of Projects and Data Sets will be addressed in the
context of importing an acquired GEDCOM file. TMG users will talk about
their experiences and tips for migrating and reporting. Find out what makes
TMG 5 so special, and worth waiting for.
As well as planned talks, we will have plenty of time for questions, and we
will use breakout groups to enable selected topics to be explored in more
depth. If you have a notebook PC, it would be great if you could bring it
to the workshop.
The workshop will be an opportunity for you to have any of your questions
answered, as well as passing on your knowledge to fellow TMG users. If
there is any particular subject you want covered on the day, please let me
know, so that I can make sure time is set aside for your issues.
