That almost sounds like you are "reading" them in a preview pane,
and not the formal message pane...

However, candidates might be:

tools/options/content concentrator

"This feature lets you group threaded messages and view then (sic)
all at once in the preview pane of a mailbox"

Check the help system for instructions (looks like you have to
<alt-click> on the message that starts a group).

I never use preview panes (that was one of the ways email virus's
got activated -- by an HTML preview starting stuff). {I also should
consider buying Eudora 6 -- my desktop machine is running v4, my seldom
used new laptop has 6 in sponsored mode, but it reads that the junk mail
filtering is only in paid mode}
