One of the recurring things I notice in this thread is that people are
mentioning the amount of memory they have without mentioning their
operating systems. The operating system should definitely be listed along
with the amount of memory because different operation systems require
different amounts of memory to run the same.

A guideline I saw somewhere was that to operate equivalently NT 2000
required twice as much memory as Win 98, and Win XP required three times as
much.
