A good question - and it was anticipated in Help (look for 'Project Explorer
or Picklist?') If you select 'Link Project Explorer to other windows' on the
Project Explorer (PE) rightclick menu you can change focus with the PE just as
you do with the Picklist. Another handy tool, and one of my favorite
features, is the Focus Group (FG). The FG window can be left open on your desktop,
as part of your layout (like the PE).
I tend to use the FG, along with Ctrl-i, more than the PE and Picklist. For
a more complete description, look under Focus Group in Help. The PE,
Picklist, and FG can all be used to change focus and they do have overlapping
features. It depends on how you like to work, just another example of how
customizable TMG is.
Note also the use of the PE and FG in Reports - for instance see the Report
Definition Screen for the Family Group Sheet. Many reports allow you to filter
your report based on people in the FG or in the PE.
Hope this helps -
