Thanks Virginia. I've done that but unfortunately still no Bookmarks. I
will recreate them I guess.

The pjc file doesn't contain anything regarding bookmarks. I've posted
the content below. By the way, when I tried to open the pjc file I
received a message that the extension wasn't correct, asking me whether
I wanted to change it to TXT. I did this so hope that is okay.

Re the Picklist - I'm doing a One Name Study so find it very useful to
be able to select parents, spouses etc quickly from the Expanded
Picklist. However, now that I am a bit more familiar with TMG I'll go
back to the Simple Picklist to see whether I can make it work for me. So
far, I think that everything is in the Expanded Picklist but am still a
bit worried about what might have happened when all the names suddenly
changed to the word 'True'

If you are comfortable working with files in Windows Explorer, you could
try
deleting the *.CDX files in that project folder (they are the index
files
which will be regenerated when you next open the project). I don't
know whether
that would return the Bookmarks or not. Those are stored in the .pjc
file (a
.txt file) for that project if you want to check if they are still
there.
They are listed near the bottom under [Bookmarks].

To help with your ongoing problem with the filtered Expanded Picklist,
can
you use the Simple Picklist instead - or the Focus Group?

I was working in TMG, adding new people, new tags to existing people and
so on.

I was in the Expanded Picklist, used F2 again to get the fast search
dialog box and then used shift plus F9 to type 'Borthwick' as I have a
text macro for that word. My recollection is that the word Borthwick
didn't appear so I hit shift plus F9 again and suddenly all the names in
my Expanded Picklist changed to the word 'True'. (ie Person name,
father's name, mother's name, spouse's name). The dates seemed to be
unchanged.

I have three databases in my project and have only one of these enabled.

I closed the Picklist and then tried to close and backup. I wasn't sure
whether I should backup with this problem, however on trying I received
a message to say that I could not backup as the project was being used
elsewhere. I checked via Databse manager and the correct database was
enabled. I had not opened it elsewhere. TMG was not open twice. I closed
down without backing up. Also closed right out of my laptop and started
up again.

I opened up my project again. The Picklist seems to be OK now. Initially
it said All data sets at the top but I've changed that to the one I was
working in. I seem to have the right number of people still in the
database, including all the people I have just added.

However, all of my bookmarks have disappeared.

I've run VFI - no problems. Also Optimise - 0 bytes difference.

How can I retrieve my bookmarks?

I am sure the answer to this one will be No but need to ask. I don't
know what else has happened. Can I do anything to check the integrity of
this database now?

Finally, an observation. Perhaps this has already been reported but I
haven't been able to read through all the list messages over the past
few months. There is clearly some sort of conflict (at least in my
project) between the Add Person function and the use of Filters. If I
add a person when my database is filtered TMG will without fail 'seize
up' ie greyed out menus, can't use function keys etc. If I remember to
clear the filter before adding a person then all is fine. Hope this is
of some use in the quest to resolve grey-outs.
