minimum this is just about a requirement), (2) Second Site, (3) Wit2Note,
(4) PathWhiz, and (5) a macro program. If you wish to move your data to a
Pocket PC or PDA you need additional device software to accomplish that
because there is no TMG compatible program for these devices such as exists
for PAF.

You don't need any optional software.

You can use:
TMG-Utility (free, but optional donation requested)
Second Site (costs)
Wit2Note (free, not available for TMG5?)
PathWiz (free, don't know about Bryan's future plans)
Keyboard macro program (must be some freeware options)

Pocket Genealogist for TMG and GedStar (Pro and Plus) for TMG are
TMG-database compatible programs that are available for cost from their
developers.

TMG and PAF are hardly comparable options as genealogy databases. In
addition, PAF is a product of a very large non-profit organization and is
developed and distributed consistent with the purposes of that organization.
TMG is the product of a relatively modest for-profit software developer who
has the support of a very active community of users. Who are also very
willing to help you whenever the need arises.
