None of these are required to use TMG for its stated purpose, to
maintain your genealogy files to help your research. Some of the
ones you mentioned are very handy and nice to have and some are
for a very narrow purpose however you can maintain your genealogy
without any of them.
Just look at the number of add ins available for many other
program like Photoshop (you could go broke on plug-ins), third
party tools for about any programming language. It seems like
most popular programs generate a home-industry of add-on,
add-ins, etc to spring up.
Other than PAVE, I don't think any other genealogy program has a
PDA program and that really isn't part of PAVE, it was developed
by one of the companies that currently develops other Palm
applications for genealogy.
As Jim said the macros were not a supported part of TMG4 and
apparently not used much at all. Personally, I have tried many of
the key macro programs and found all of them to be more trouble
than they are worth.
