I might add that various high-end programs have add-ons (I think the usual
industry term is plug-in, although I seem to recall that Quark calls them
Xtensions). The idea is that specific groups of users will desperately
need/want a certain feature and may be willing to pay extra to get it, but
it's not needed by the average user. Eudora has some free plug-ins and
graphics programs sometimes have a lot. I wish I could remember what some
of the Quark ones were; my ex does page layout and had quite a few of them,
some cheap and some extremely costly. Which reminds me I should put his
family into Second Site for him since we never tried to run TMG on his Mac
(yes, we get along just fine).
