I like, for my Epson Stylus C80 printer:

Wausau Bright White, 96 Brightness, smooth finish, 65 lb.
Cover
#92101 (8 1/2 x 11)
Acid Free, for Laser or Inkjet

Available at a local specialty paper store (Portland OR) by
the ream or by the sheet.
Cost of my last 250 sheets was $11.

Hunt out a store of this type and buy one or two pages of
various papers and
try them out until you find one that is best for your
printer.

It is pretty expensive to buy something and then not use it,
or try it and not like it.

weight and feel as commercial snapshot paper, with a medium
gloss. I've tried the matte paper and don't really like it
and some of the paper just has too much shine.

would be readily available? I am sure that there is some
great stuff out there if you want to mail order it, but I
would prefer to hop in the car and get it. Like maybe
today.
