Have you consider trying to solve the base problem?

Buy a new computer with adequate memory and disk space and up-to-date
operating system. ($700)

Or

Increase your memory and disk space. ($3-400)

Upgrade your operating system to xp ($100)

Free!!

Eliminate as many background running programs as possible

Free up disk space by deleting files and archiving email.

Defrag your disk

Reinstall your current operating system and do not reinstall trash
programs you tried but don't work. Remnants of these programs in the
registry could be causing you the problems.
