The only reason a Celeron might be inferior to a Pentium 4 is the
smaller L2 Cache, 256 KB vs 512 or 1 MB in a pentium 4. As discussed
the HD speed is more important as TMG as a data base program writes to
the files each time.
I just bought a new Dell D3000 Desk Top. I upgraded to the Pentium 4
with HT which I doubt I will ever need, as the delta $ was 100 mainly
for the 1MB cache.
My daughter just bought a refurbished Dell laptop 8600 for a very good
price. She did get a good deal that has expired but the reports on
refurbished computers from Dell and Gateway and perhaps others are good.
Habry Cranford's forwarding of Kim Kommando's article has the best
comparison of chip sets I have seen,
