Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a small flat bed scanner which I could take with me when visiting distant cousins to enable me to scan their photos and documents in situ? Preferably it would have its own memory, so that I would not have to take a PC with me (I do not have a lap-top/notebook). I know there are very small hand held scanners that could be used, but these require the results to be 'stitched together', and beside, they still require a PC attached. I have tried using a normal digital camera, with rather mixed results. When it may be my only chance to access the photos I would prefer to get it right first time.
If there is no such thing as a 'memory enabled scanner', I did wonder if it is possible to send a scan to a PDA. Although I currently do not have a PDA either, I am considering one - possibly the Palm Tungsten T5 - which is cheaper than a laptop, but could still hold my TMG data.
Any ideas anyone? Oh, and it would need to be available in the UK.
