You could use a digital camera to take a picture of the document. If
you use a 5 MP camera and frame an 8.5x11 inch (22x28 cm) document so
that it almost fills the picture, that's roughly equivalent to
scanning it at 200 DPI. A tripod would be helpful, but I've gotten
good results without one.
