Maybe more detail might help. Since a source can be only of one type, you
would have the source already created as the one you want Book (Authored),
or you would create a new source with this type. If you need to identify the
sources Lorna's report will do that. (I had thought Find All Source Fields
would work but apparently it doesn't look at source types) Then run John's
utility to change the sources for you.

Jim,

I think Jill and Nikki have jumped to the conclusion that you've duplicated
sources, and not source types.

I can't see anywhere in John's utility that you can check/change source
types, but I might have missed it.

Have you tried just deleting the duplicated source types? I presume from
your query that you have and it wouldn't let you cos they were in use?

You should be able to run a List of Sources report
Filtered group
Using a filter of
Source type is Book (Authored)1 etc
