This is somewhat off topic. Having read about CD disk deterioration and
the new "archival" CD's, I purchased a package of archival 25 Maxell
triple coated CD-R's, 700 MB, 40X for $17.95. On package is the
statement: "Archival life up to 100 years (in proper storage
environmnet)", followed by "Storage Environment: 68°F to 72°F with 40%
Obviously the storage environment conditions render almost useless the
claim of archival life. So checking the disks' condition often in order
to validate the TMG backups would be necessary. And, on the south coast
of Texas, the archival life might actually be measured in nanoseconds.
What were they thinking?
