Bob, in Win 2000, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Folder
Options > 'View' tab > check button to show hidden files & folders >
scroll down to DOC to find if Word is the program used to open files
with that extension. If it's not there, click on button to Change the
association and find Word in the list etc.
