AARP is the "American Association of Retired Persons". This is by far the
largest organized group of retirees, or soon to be retirees, in the U.S.A.
It has grown from a collective group organized to get discounts on
insurance, etc. into a very powerful political force and the de facto "voice
of senior citizens".
