Well it is the Master PLACE List. <G> I used it all the time when I used
the microfilm roll information in my TODOLIST tasks. Now I just use the
microfilm roll for the repository so I don't have to worry about my places
disappearing.

Because sometimes you want to add a place and not use it for a while. For
example you might want to enter a place and set up different place names
based on the time period. You might not need to use the place as it was
known between 1855 and 1872, but you want to record it in your data in case

I can see that, but unless the place is associated with a person or event,
I
see little value in having it in the MPL. I would be more likely to
include
that info in a memo attached to an event or as a comment to the place that
was used.
