I guess what I was looking for would be for TMG to store it as numeric
floating or fixed-point numbers instead of as character strings. In that
way, it could be displayed in a number of formats depending on user
preference. Storing it as a string means that you can't manipulate it
numerically and have to know exactly what format you are using. In this
case, going from the TMG standard to the way that Google Maps needs to see
it is not very easy to do.
