That's interesting because I fill in all the information including the
wife's maiden surname and none of the Name-Marr tags print on the Journal
Report! Are you using TMG 6.01 like I am? I even make them primary so the
children get the mothers maiden name as () in their firth sentence.

I stand what I said. If any field other than the Surname is filled in
the Nam-Marr will print. I use this feature a lot. If I know a woman's
married name say from an obit but know nothing about her husband I will
fill in her Nam-Marr as Mrs John Jones and it will print even though I
have Suppress Married Names checked.
