I have a Palm Tungsten E. I love it. I've installed GedStar Pro and I have
all my TMG info at my fingertips, if I don't want to carry my laptop around.
I have about 6,000 people in my data set and there is more than enough
memory for all I have (including other programs like Splashshopper, my
Outlook calendar and appointments, my contacts from Outlook, etc. The
Tungsten E is reasonable in price and is very easy to read and navigate in.

BTW, my hubby got me a separate GPS unit for my birthday a couple of weeks
ago. It's a Magellan Explorist 200. I didn't want the GPS capability on my
Palm. I wanted something separate. That ran us about $130.00 at Costco.

Subject: [TMG] PDA and software recommendation needed

Okay, I finally have my husband talked into getting me a PDA but I need to
strike while the iron is hot so he doesn't get a chance to think about this
for too long!!!

So, any recommendations as to make, model, things to be sure it does?
software needs?

It doesn't need GPS as he is getting a stand-alone GPS [my leverage for the
PDA]. I use TMG so need thoughts on what coordinates well with it.... what
software do I need to handle my genealogy stuff?

Is the address and note taking features that come with a PDA adequate? What
accessories should I have? Should I get one of those metal cases so it can
survive being dropped in my purse?

Thank for any thoughts or ideas!!!
Holly
