This is utterly off-topic, but:
My laptop used to recognize wi fi signals in cafes and so on (not
that I was going to pay for access, but when it was free I used it),
but for the past year or so, all that has come up is MSHOME. I have
searched the internet trying to figure out what could be wrong, but
have not come up with anything (other than the advice to upgrade to
XP service pack 2, which I finally gave in and did) that really
seemed to address anything related to my system.
As I've found that I'm running up a horrible bill dialing up here in
Prague, and ought to be able to use the free wi fi at the Narodni
knihovna (library), I am feeling a bit desperate at not being able to
get any of the hotspots out there to show up as available. I have
played with the wi fi connection settings endlessly, to no avail.
Any ideas?
