Using the same report settings as Lee (with a few minor differences, plus
Memos embedded, Include name memos), TMG generates the report just fine. The
problem seems related to the following settings:
A) Generations selected
B) Sources included
C) Tags selected
So I tried the report with various settings. There is no problem for 3
generations regardless of the other settings (for tags & sources).
But when I increase the generations to 9 (which happens to be the max for
the subject of the report), I get the following results:
OK if select all tags and no Sources
OK if select some tags and either Footnotes or Endnotes
Hangs if select all tags AND either Footnotes or Endnotes
Boy, this is making my head spin. Hope you can make sense of the different
conditions. Ideally, I want to generate the report with all tags and unique
endnotes--but no luck so far.

What options are selected in your Journal Report Definition Screen
[Options] window? You indicate certain options and I ran a journal
report based on that and had no problems.
I also ran a Journal report based on 250 generations (actually wound
up being about 18 generations), all Tags, all events and witnessed
events (no Sources, Memos, Exhibits) and again had no problems.
My settings were:
--General tab - Record Style, Descendants, 250, Threshold 0, First
Reference = 1, all Researcher options select at the end of the report.
--Page Options tab - Bottom, Right, in the Footer, 5 indent Page [PAGE].
--Fonts tab - left as the default settings.
--Sources tab - None.
--Memos tab - None.
--Exhibits tab - None (actually not applicable as it was to screen).
--Indexes tab - Also not used.
--Publication Tools tab - Also not used.
--Sort By tab - Surname.
--Tags tab - All, All events and witnessed events, He was born in 1861.
--Names tab - ID Number, Empty Name Text= (--?--).
--Dates tab - dd Mmm yyyy, Months spelled out.
--Places tab - Use place styles, At.
-- HTML tab - not used.
-- Miscellaneous tab - Blank line before each subject, Living Text =
is still living, Non-breaking character= (ASCII 32), and Spaces
between sentences=2
This was printed to screen and there was no problem. Try yours with
these and see if you still have a problem.
