If you want the full TMG with complete project files on a
device you can fit in a pocket, you might check out the new
ultra-mini PCs. For examples see Sony VAIO UX models and
the OQO model 01+. Although they are sized to fit in a pocket
(though perhaps not a shirt pocket) they run a *full* version
of WinXP Pro, with about a 30 Gig drive, so can run full TMG.
The new VAIO can even be got with a 16 Gig flash drive if
you are concerned about the reliability of mini hard drives.
Some disadvantages are their $$price$$ (about what you would
pay for a full new laptop since in a way they are one) and
some say some run hot! in the hand. Also there is the
obvious issue of the smaller screens, and even though they
have small built-in QWERTY keyboards, they are not designed
for significant data entry, though all will connect to a full
keyboard, e.g. via Bluetooth. However, if weight/size and
the convenience of the full TMG is important enough to you
to justify the cost, one of these kind of devices might be
worth thinking about.
I admit I am old enough that the concept of holding a full
WinXP Pro system with 30G drive in the palm of my hand,
and with full wireless connectivity, boggles my mind!!
My, oh My! What will technology bring us next!
