Mine was already set to Manual. I also checked the Nuance website,but couldn't find anything. The "Community" message for PaperPort isn't working and there isn't anything in their Knowledge Base. They want $9.95 to e-mail tech support, which at this point I'm not going to pay.

I hope we can find out what in TMG is triggering the installers. It's not
just PaperPort having a problem - I"ve seen several reports of other software
manifesting the pop-up installer problem.

Something you (and others having this problem) can check on your computer:

Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Services
Windows Installer; rightclick and check Properties
Look at the 'Startup type:" field

Mine is set (by default I presume) to Manual, but there is a setting for
Automatic. If yours is set to Automatic, you could try Manual. I have no idea
what the long-range implications are of Manual vs Automatic - but I have never
touched my setting. It's a new machine, so maybe older computers had it set
to Automatic.
