Subject: [TMG] Citing URLs
Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2007 13:09:15 -0600

I am working on my source types for using with Ancestry. I downloaded the
source types Lee created, using the new Mills templates, but I prefer to not
only cite the online source, but since Ancestry is good enough to give their
source, I prefer to refer to that source as well. So far I have come up
with a fair output, but have a question about URLs.

Do you cite the ENTIRE URL given for a document, which can be incredibly
long, or do you just cite the URL for Ancestry.com? I am a splitter so
citing each one separately isn't the problem, it's just the URLs can be so
long as to cause the reader to lose cite of the actual source.
