I have produced two book now using TMG and The Verminator's statement had me wondering why I could not produce in SecondSite what I did in TMG. I am not thinking image output but content output.
Ninety-nine percent of my individuals have no special formatting in order to produce their page(s) using TMG. There is no problem with these. On the other hand, there is that one percent where I have gone through and formatted say 5 or 10 lines using columns. These have no problem as long as the line width in SS equals or exceeds the columns output; otherwise the line wraps.
Under WordPerfect, which I use, I manually position an exhibit (picture) on the page. I don't have this capability in SS; well I do but ... Call this if you like a TMG deficiency. In this case though, I wouldn't maintain two set of tags one used for TMG output and one for SS output.
For the general user, producing a book output using TMG or a site/CD output book using SS, I see only one set of tags being necessary. On the other hand, if the individual is a graphics designer or a professional publisher, they would be hard pressed to maintain output compatibility. Actually they would be hard pressed to have TMG create their output as much of it is probably manually post processed.
It could be that The Verminator is a bit overly energetic in implying the need to maintain two tags, one used for TMG output and a second used for SS output. From time to time there may be a need but not in a general sense.
I wish to emphasize my thinking is not to create image output but content output. On one hand I am designing a book. On the other I am designing a "web site" or CD and making a hard copy of it. The only similarity is the subject matter.
I am not considering SS to create my "heritage book."

Perhaps I should have been more clear about the two sets of tags....
What I meant was that the "regular" TMG tags should be used to produce the Second Site output but that a special set of tags to be used when producing a traditional book could be used to produce exactly the printed output needed/wanted for a book. No need to maintain a full set of duplicate tags, only those that would determine special printed output.
What I meant to express was that TMG can, if managed properly, handle producing both a traditional book of whatever type you want PLUS produce an excellent Second Site file. I never intended to convey that Second Site should be used for traditional book publishing.
