As other have said I would not do it.

I have a fairly easy way to find people whose names have changed.

1. I search the Pick list by given name.

2. I have a LoN on my toolbar with a filter of
Given name contains [?]
AND surname begins with [?]

I can find Johan Peter Reinhardt even though I am looking at a record
for Peter Rhynard or Peter Reynard.
