Jim:
Thank you for your assistance.
I did not, start "using non-standard paths" with TMG7.
Possibly this is a hangover from another life, before v7 was released.

Away back when, I had the problem that others also had with the missing
button folder, but I corrected that problem. Since then, I have applied the
more recent update.

I _believe_ I use the standard default paths for all items.

1. You wrote: What is your program folder path?

My exe file is located at: C:\Program Files\The Master Genealogist
v7\tmg7.exe

2. You wrote: What is your shared program data folder path? Does the folder
contain all of the appropriate files?

My shared program data folder path is C:\ProgramData\The Master Genealogist
v7 . The only subfolders in this folder are:
\buttons
\forUpdate
\Frames
\graphics
\Languages
\RRW
These appear correct to me (Help > Data File Storage)

3. You wrote: What is your user program data folder? Does the folder contain
all of the
appropriate files?

My user program data folder is: C:\Users\MEBE\AppData\Roaming\The Master
Genealogist v7 . There are no subfolders in this folder; it contains the
app.ini file with configuration settings. There are a total of 47 files in
my user program data folder.

4. You wrote: What is your user data folder? Does it contain the appropriate

subfolders? Is this where your project is located?

My user data file is located at C:\Users\MEBE\Documents\The Master
Genealogist v7 . It contains the following subfolders
\Backups
\Configuration_files
\Exhibits
\Export
\FDE (for program use only)
\Logs (for program use only)
\Projects
\Repeat_files
\Report_output
\Slideshow
\Timelines

These appear correct to me (Help > Data File Storage)

The \Projects subfolder contains a subdirectory for the Sample file and it
contains a subdirectory for one special project that I created 12 March
2008.

Except for the 12 March project, all the other project files are together in
the folder C:\Users\MEBE\Documents\The Master Genealogist v7\Projects

GeneJ,

When you start using non-standard paths, it makes things more difficult to
diagnose.

1) What is your program folder path?

2) What is your shared program data folder path? Does the folder contain all

of the appropriate files?

3) What is your user program data folder? Does the folder contain all of the

appropriate files?

4) What is your user data folder? Does it contain the appropriate
subfolders? Is this where your project is located?

You can determine what the appropriate files are in any data folder by
reading the Data File Structure topic in help.

Jim
