I like this idea. Here is what I did -
? = No known Connection
A = Ancestor of WTB3 / AKB
D = Descendant of WTB3 / AKB
B = Other Witness
S = Slave
P = Direct Paternal (AKB/WTB3)
M = Direct Maternal (AKB/WTB3)
C = Collateral / Cousin
My "Unknowns" have been boarders, slaves, and prominent witnesses (like
where I noticed they witnessed an important family legal documents etc.).
My thought is that Ancestor/Descendant and Direct Paternal / Direct Maternal
can be used for highlighting and filtering (I do a Y-DNA project and hope to
one day to MTDNA). My project is family oriented so I anchored those four
flags in relation to myself and my wife.
Do you more experienced folk notice something I am not thinking about?
Against Mr. Hoffman's advice in his book, I am not using a sample project
(shame) and it would be better to go through the first few flag edits now
vs. 3+ years from now.
Thanks,
Bill Belcher
