Conceptually I find the sort date part of the date data particularly as it
is most often used when there is no solid date information and even a ca
XXXX could be misleading. Programming is probably an entirely different
matter.

The problem is that the mouseover idea is completely inconsistent with the
item tip design. Item tips are designed to show data when all of the data is
not visible in the current field, not to show a different type of data.
