If you can make a data file that includes a record for each person whose
Reference field you want to change, then you can use the "Set Person Field"
feature in TMGU to do what you want. Assuming that you want person number
56, 57, and 81 to have the value "ABC" in the reference field, the data file
would look like this:

56<tab>ABC
57<tab>ABC
81<tab>ABC

Note that you would replace "<tab>" with an actual tab character.

You can make such a file by creating a "List of People" report in TMG and
using its filtering capabilities to limit the list to the people of
interest. Then use MS Excel to modify the list so that it has two columns as
shown above. Save the MS Excel file as a tab-delimited text and then use
that with TMGU.
