Bob,
When you are in the tag entry box and you click on the yellow +sign to
add a witness, you arrive in the add witness-window. Instead of clicking
on the left to find the person in the list, click on the add person-sign
in the top right corner and you will have to check the sex of your
witness before entering all the other information in the quick Add
screen.

if you want to include these witnesses as Witnesses, you have to add
them as new people.

I used to do this but later just included the people ( witnesses and
minster) l in the memo unless they already existed in my data. I have
no
<[W]> in my baptism tag sentences.
