OK--I will reveal my stupidity. What are maintenance routines? And how do we learn about such things? I don't believe they are covered in Terry's book, and I was told at FGS that that is the only book there is--the prior one is out of print.

Make it a point to do maintenance routines shortly after fixing a few of the
items in the data. I have found that keeps TMG from garbling things.

Subject: [TMG] Why the confusion? Sources
Was working on adding parents as witnesses to birth tags tonight and noticed
that a source was inappropriately attached to a birth tag. I searched for
the places this source #8 (deed source) was attached. It was attached to 4
birth tags that should be attached to source #537 (FGS source) and the deed
it belonged to.
What I can't figure out is how TMG confused these two sources.
1) Numerically they are 529 sources apart.
2) Alphabetically they are from D- F apart (Deed-X and FGS-X).
There's no way one was created by copying the other since they use different
source types. I couldn't have picked the wrong one from the list since they
are no where near each other, no matter how you sort the source list. I
doubt I would have typed in 8 when I meant 537.
Any suggestions as to how this source could have gotten used wrong?
I am also having Clean up déjà vu lately too. I swear I have fixed this
source issue before. The other day I had multiple repositories attached to
sources, that I swear I had cleaned up before. Could TMG be forgetting
cleanup I have already done?
