I am glad that this topic is finally getting discussed. I have never understood why TMG has not included the "death of a spouse" as a standard tag, so I hope that TMG does so soon. Here is what I have been using -- and really like:
His wife, [RF:Deceased], died <[D]> <[M]> <in [L]> <[AE]>, leaving him a widower. <[M2].>
Her husband, [RF:Deceased], died <[D]> <[M]> <in [L]> <[AE]>, leaving her a widow. <[M2].>
In looking at the Details window in TMG (and in Reports), I find it very helpful to see when a spouse died, especially when the surviving spouse remarried, died, moved, etc.
