Blake,

"Getting the Most Out of... [TMG]" (Lee Hoffman's book) recommends including
"county" (where appropriate) to distinguish the county from a city/town
(p.6). And, Terry Reigel's book "A Primer for ...[TMG]" shows Terry's
practice where he includes the abbreviations "Co.", "Twp.", etc. (p.27).
And, someone noted along the way that the abbreviation tends to fit more
easily in reports. I'm using "Co."
