We're about to get our first laptop so I have some questions about TMG.

I'll probably keep using the desktop for geneology work at home because of the big screen.
I'll use the laptop when we travel and maybe sometimes at home if I want to putter while watching TV.

....

Question 2. How do I keep the two TMGs in sync.  Sometimes the desktop will have the latest info and sometimes the laptop will.  My husband is hoping to use a router with a wireless connection to let the laptop and desktop communicate.

....

I have been using TMG on a laptop and desktop for several years.  A simple way to coordinate them is to backup your most recent updated work on Computer A (whether desktop or laptop) to a flash drive, then plug the flash drive into Computer B and do a RESTORE to the second computer.  Just remember to then backup whatever changes you've made on Computer B, and RESTORE to Computer A.

Flash drives have gotten much larger and cheaper, so you should be able to get one that will hold your entire TMG project many times over.  I have over 31,000 people in my database, and there will be room for all of it in a 4GB or 8GB flash drive several times over--and you can get flash drive 32GB.
