Welcome!
A couple of comments from a similar perspective.
1. Careful planning only goes so far. Like Lee, I suggest just getting started. I remember when I started that the first thing I wanted to enter was census records. I tried about 3 different ways until I ended up with a system similar to what Terry uses. By using the program you will figure out what you like to do and don't like to do.
2. I found that after using the program for about 2 months it was greatly beneficial for me to go back and re-read Terry's website and GTMOOTMG. I always found new tips and tricks.
3. I put all my exhibits as external. I think you will find that most folks do. It has to do with the ability to use the Second Site program for websites. IF you move the exhibit you will have to relink. There are several tools available to help if the exhibit becomes disassociated with the program. It is better to ask at that time so specifics can be described and the proper tool to use can be suggested.
Get started! Have fun! Ask questions. It's a great group.
