Correcting a mistake, where I said, " Note that some TMG users distinguish
between use of a single exclusion
marker (one minus sign) and double exclusion markers (two minus signs)
because a sentence with a single exclusion marker can be "forced" to print
(in Output Options) whereas a double marker will print in that
circumstance."
The last sentence should have read ... whereas a double marker will NOT
print in that circumstance "

Blake,
You said, "I'm considering the use of a tag to show surname variations. I've
read
over Terry's page on this subject before I wrote this."
