There is a free computer program available that is not quite as good as the
Photoshop v.5 limited edition, but with some practice, you do do a lot of
photo restoration your self. The basic concept is to enlarge the image,
then using the "cloning tool" copy and paste good image areas over the bad
image areas.
PhotoFiltre, from France.

Betreff: [TMG] OT - Digital Image Restoration
Since the list is so quiet while everyone is waiting for TMG Version
8, I'll ask an OT question.
I just received a .tiff digital image of a photograph of my 3rd
great-grandmother and three of her descendants. There is a tear right
across her face. If I had the photo I could take it to a shop here in
town to have it restored. If I had the necessary skills, I might be
able to do something with it in the old Paint Shop Pro program
installed on this computer, but I don't. The damage is too bad for the
scratch tool, I think.
Does anyone know of a reputable online company that does this kind of
restoration work well?
Thanks!
Carol Anne
