I agree with you and I'd do the same if I had family that baptized children,
but apparently the OP does not, and all his tags were baptismal (birth
group) tags.

I make a strange assumption myself, that all children are actually born
before they can be baptized. Therefore, I assign them a birth tag with a
sort date preceding the baptismal date. The actual date and place may
not be known.
