Michael,
I don't think you want the literal value "__ ___ ____" in your date field.
If you used TMGU to make that change, the TMGU log file should show "(I)"
after the value to indicate that it is an Irregular value for a TMG date
field.
TMG allows date fields to be empty. If you use TMG Utility and change a date
field to an empty string, TMGU will actually store this value in the date
field: "100000000030000000000". That's the TMG date encoding for a regular
date with year=0, month=0, day=0, and that's what you want for a
blank/empty/unknown date.
