I was one who never met my grandfathers, and had limited contact with my
grandmothers.
For my grandchildren I made a circular chart with the relevant one of my
children in the middle. I added ancestor photos around the edge and
appropriate illustrations around the edge. I numbered the photo's with a
number the same as a corresponding name in the chart. I then had them
printed on a plan printer at the cheapest price. This was then laminated.My
intention was to have something which would not necessary be kept long-time.
I thought even if they played darts with it they would be learning their
ancestors. It was more successful than I thought especially as I thought
circular charts were ho-hum. Now if I am at their place I can refer them to
the chart if they want to know how someone fits in.
