Many thanks to all who responded. Please forgive me for not sending
individual replies.

It seems as if it might be lack of resources. Next week I'll 'slim down'
- TMG one project with 2 databases open, plus marriage index (Libre
Office calc) and Firefox to search Findmypast marriages would be the
minimum.

*Thank you Virginia for* -
<When you say you have 2 'databases' open, do you mean you have open 2
projects or 2 data sets in one project or 2 instances of TMG running?
1 TMG instance, 1 Project, 2 databases (about 65,000 & 1,700 names,
almost all Exhibits external)
Regarding your Message 8, I have considered all you list, also I defrag
once a week, defrag the registry once a month.

*Rick,* thanks for your comments, but I will minimise resources, you
never know ... the straw that broke the camel's back! (grin). Anyhow, 64
bit.

*To Ian*, many thanks -

<838GB (of 911GB) free - That sounds more like a 1GB hard drive ... so you have 838MB free ???
Samsung HD103SJ 1TB

<You might want to try overclocking it.
No thanks! My one regret (being a retired electronics engineer) is that I don't have time to mess with the computer. I'm of the mind 'If it works, don't fix it'. Anyhow, family history leaves little time for anything else - even sleep at times!

Yesterday I had no problems - perhaps the electronic gremlins have had their fun and gone to plague someone else.

Kind regards - and seasons greetings!
