Hi Teresa,
I'm currently in the processed of entering Census data for the 1851, 1871,
1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 Canadian Census for Leger families in the Botsford
parish, Westmorland County, NB. I have created 17 new sources since
installing V8. I use a Census Name tag to capture the names used in the
various censuses.
I press <F4>, which brings up the Tag Type list.
Double-click on the Census Name tag (a tag that I created).
Enter the year of the census in the Date Field
Enter the Name as it appears in the census in the GivenName field
Enter the Surname as it appears in the census in the Surname field
Click on "+" button (Add new citation)
Click on "+" button (Add new source)
Double-click on the "Census Images (1851) (Canada National Archive)" source
type (a source type that I created)
Fill out the appropriate fields, including a jpg image of the census page
Click on "OK".
Put in the surety values for the corresponding fields.
So far so good (just like in V7).
Then I move to the next person from the same family that will use the same
source.
Press <F4>
Double-click "Census Name" tag
Enter the year of the census in the Date Field
Enter the Name as it appears in the census in the GivenName field
Enter the Surname as it appears in the census in the Surname field
I put the focus in the "Citation Box" at the bottom of the Tag Entry window,
then press <F3>, but nothing happens. In V7, it would have repeated the last
used citation.
<Ctrl+F3> does give me a list of the last 15 values for this field.
I am using TMG V8, 73268 people
Windows XP SP3
Tks,
Gilles

Gilles,
I am curious, where are you using the repeat key for citations. I clicked on
the + button to add a citation, and then I put the cursor in the source
number box and was able to scroll through the last citations I had used. I
think the problem may be if you are new to V8, you haven't yet used any
sources. You may have to use one to get it to show up when you F3, but it
appears to be working for me. It didn't put anything in the CD field because
the sources I have used hadn't had any text typed there, but I assume it was
working.
Note, it only cycled through the sources that I have used since V8.

Since I've started using V8, it seems that the Repeat Key (F3) is no longer
working for citations. I have to click on the Repeat Key to be able to use
this feature. I have use the "Initialize Repeat Files" thinking that this
might fix the issues, but to no avail.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Gilles
