I have been trying to carefully consider how memos are used in tag sentences. I note that in some std tag sentences [M2] or [M3] is used even though there is no apparent use of [M] or [M1] or of split memos. Under what circumstances other than splitting, would one jump up to [M2] or [M3] as is done in the employment tag and in the will tag instead of using [M]?
