Editing a role name in one language should not change that role name in
other languages. A bridesmaid in English should not be a bridesmaid in
Spanish. If I realize I have misspelled the word in ENGLISH, it should not
change the translations for that word in other languages. We are discussing
two forms of English, but it works the same way for any NON-ENGLISH US
language.
Let's say, I decide I want to change the word CHILD in the birth tag to
BIRTH PERSON. I have now lost the German role KIND, and picked up a new role
called BIRTH PERSON in the German Birth tag. Might as well be deleted,
since I no longer see the role KIND in the list of roles to be used.

If TMG wants to change to a translation language, where a renaming of a role
name is global across all languages, then they should create a new language
called Translation, and not use English US to do it, or move the role names
to the language translations file where people realize they are actually
translating the word. I find it confusing that editing a role name in one
language would make global changes across all languages.

You didn't read what I wrote:
"Once you have created a new role name, it exists and cannot be deleted so
this has to be factored in with your testing."

Although you removed the role use _for that tag type_, the 'Male 00-16' role
name and role name translations for that role name still exist and cannot be
deleted.

Roles names and role name translations are global.

The sentences for any particular role are specific to the use of that role
in a given tag type.
