In the thread "Gender-type roles V7 and V8" there has been extensive discussion of the change in the treatment of Roles for Principals in TMG 8. A number of suggested enhancements have been suggested to improve the experience of those who prefer to have specific Roles assigned in particular Tag Types, mostly Marriage and Census. They include:

1. Provide an option to specify for a Tag Type that if a specific Role is assigned to one Principal in a Tag that another specific Role will be assigned to the other Principal.

2. Provide an option to specify for a Tag Type that when the first Role on the list of Roles is assigned to the Principal in the first slot, the other Principal will be assigned the second Role on the list (this I think is subtly different than the one above)

3. Provide an means on the Add person screen, when adding a spouse, for the user to specify the Roles of both Principals in the Marriage Tag.

Questions:

A. Have I missed any viable suggestions?

B. Which of these would work best for heavy users of Roles, or does it matter?

I have no insight as to whether WG would consider any of these, but experience suggests that suggestions are more likely to be acted on when there is consensus among users about how a proposed feature should work.
