ELKINS, FRANCIS RANDOLPH - age 82 of Medford passed away Friday, February 2,
2001 at his residence. He was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church, member
of Coal Creek Masonic Lodge #492 in Lake City. He was an Army veteran having
served in WWII. He has three Bronze Stars, Purple Heart and a Good Conduct
Medals. He was a Captain of Anderson County Rescue Squad and was a member for
over 30 years. He was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Elkins; parents, Sim J.
and Clara Elkins; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include; daughters,
Rebecca Ann and husband, Charles T. Duff of Lake City, Fran Elkins of
Medford; grandchildren, Jennifer Peterman of Knoxville, Richard Duff of
Medford, Stephanie Moquin of Lake City; great grandchildren, Lesly Moquin,
Brandie Duff and Brittney Duff. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday
February 4, 2001 at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City. Masonic service
will be 8 p.m. Sunday with the funeral service following with the Rev. Tom
Byrge and Rev. Robbie Leach officiating. Graveside service will be 11 a.m.
Monday at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton. In lieu of flowers memorials may be
made to Clinch River Baptist Church in Lake City. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
in Lake City in charge of all arrangements
MEDLIN, ESTHER - age 70 of Knoxville, formerly of Elk Valley passed away
Friday, February 2, 2001 at the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital. She was born
June 29, 1930 in Campbell Co., Tenn. Esther was a member of Lick Fork Baptist
Church for many years. She was a very devoted wife & mother for many years
and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She is preceded in death
by her parents, Caswell and Mattie Blankenship Sexton. Survivors: husband,
Elbert Medlin, Knoxville; son, David R. Medlin; daughter, Tammy Medlin,
Knoxville; brothers, Columbus B. Sexton, Knoxville, Lewis Sexton, Knoxville;
sisters, Lottie Walls, Knoxville, Flora & Charles Johnson, Kingsport, Juanita
& Robert Kelley, Knoxville; granddaughter, Shannon Gayle Munsey. Pallbearers:
Bill Walls, Bill Clarkson, Mark A. Smith, Danny L. Castelbery, Buster Sexton
and Timothy C. Hall. Visitation; 6-8 p.m. Sunday February 4, 2001 at the
Cox-Martin Funeral Home. Funeral service 8 p.m. Sunday February 4, 2001 in
the Cox-Martin Chapel with the Rev. Timothy C. Hall and Rev. Harry Vonzell
Whetsell officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Monday February 5, 2001 at the Valley
View Cemetery. Cox-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
