JAMES BULLOCK, 27, of Nashville, died Tuesday, April 24, at his residence in
Nashville. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Lake City,
and a former member of the Joy Singers. He was a member of the Knoxville
Gymnastics Association.
He was preceded in death by father George Bullock.
He is survived by mother Frankie Bullock of Lake City; brothers Steve, Tommy,
and Mark Bullock all of Lake City, Gary Bullock of Cartersville, Ga., Fred
Bullock of Clinton, and John Bullock of Knoxville; sisters Georgie Slover of
Lake City, Pattie Smith of Abingdon, Va., Glenna Tibbs of Caryville, Beverly
Joyce of Clinton, and Jody Bullock of Knoxville.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 28, in the chapel of Cox-Martin
Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Phillips and Rev. David Goins officiating.
Interment was held in the McCarty-Woodhaven Gardens in Claxton, Tenn.

EDITH MAE BUNCH, 68, of 1208 Loop Rd., Apt. 102, LaFollette, died Sunday,
April 29 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Campbell County. She was of the
Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by husband Randy Bunch; parents Fred and Delilah
Muse Douglas.
She is survived by sons Johnny Archer of Sweetwater, Gary, Randall, and Shawn
Bunch all of LaFollette; daughters Linda McCulley of LaFollette, Glenna
McCulley of Jacksboro, Laura Walker of LaFollette Shonnie Wilson and Judy
Poston both of LaFollette, Gail Archer of Jacksboro, and Shirley Archer of
Sweetwater; brother Fred Carroll of LaFollette; 25 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 2, at Victory Baptist Church
with Rev. Junior Dilbeck, Rev. Howard Goins, and Preacher J.R. Kitts
officiating. Interment was held in the Victory Cemetery.

JAMES MICHAEL HOUSLEY, 50, of Jacksboro, died April 19.
He was preceded in death by father Floyd Samuel Housley.
He is survived by wife Donna Housley; daughters Jill Ferguson and Jamie
Housley; sons Adam Housley, Michael Housley, and Matthew Housley; mother Ella
Mae Housley; brothers Kenneth, Eddie, George, and Bobby Housley; sisters
Jessie Snyder, Peggy Griffin, Mary Owens, Margaret Peters, and Sandy
Pemberton; sisters Cheryl Marlow and Kimberly Housley; brother Robert
Housley; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 21, at the Cross Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Deimus Bruce and Rev. Ronnie Poston officiating. Interment
was held in the Housley Family Cemetery.

VERNA JORDAN, 71, of Owensville, Ohio, died Saturday at Mercy
Hospital-Anderson in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by parents; one brother; and one sister.
She is survived by husband Calvin C. Jordan; son Donald Jordan; wife Barbara;
daughters Judy Harding and Janice Misch; 5 sisters; 2 brothers; 6
grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 2. Interment was held in the
Batavi Union Cemetery, Batavia, Ohio.

TOMMY LEON LAMBERSON, 64, of 600 Powell Valley Marina Rd., LaFollette, died
Thursday, April 26 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He
was a member of the LaFollette Church of Christ. He was the owner of the
Powell Valley Resort and Marina.
He was preceded in death by father W.E. Lamberson; brothers Bill, John, an
Don Lamberson.
He is survived by wife Mary Lamberson of LaFollette; son Tommy II Lamberson;
daughter Liz Lamberson of Englewood, Fla. and Sherry Noel of Louisville;
mother Ann McCraken of Searcy, Ark.; sister Edna Cloud of Agora Hills; 6
grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 28, in the chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral home with Brother Steven Law and Rev. Paul Cox officiating.
Interment was held in the Well Springs Cemetery.

NOVELLA BABB MASSENGILL, 54, of 969 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Jacksboro, died
Monday, April 30 at her home. She was a member of the Ford Town Baptist
Church.
She was preceding in death by husband Leonard M. Massengill; parents Elmer
and Gertrude McNeeley Babb.
She is survived by sons James Housley and Leonard W. Massengill of Jacksboro;
daughters Connie Stagnolia of LaFollette and Sonya Van Hoose of New Carlise,
Ohio; daughter Chrusty Yates of Columbus Ohio; sister Kathleen Chadwell of
LaFollette; and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 2 in the chapel of Martin Wilson
Funeral Home with Rev. David Hicks officiating. Interment will be held at 1
p.m., Thursday, May 3, in Victory Garden.

DORA MILLER, 88, of Lake City, died Monday, April 30, at the Lake City Health
Care Center. She was a member of the Clear Branch Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by parents William and Nora Campbell Hoskins; and
great-grandson.
She is survived by husband Vaughn Miller; daughter Violet White both of Lake
City; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 2, in the chapel of Cox-Martin
Funeral Home with Rev. T.D. Hooker officiating. Interment will be held
Thursday, May 3, at Leach Cemetery, Lake City at 11 a.m.

RUTH MAE SAVAGE, 91, of 400 Beech St., LaFollette, died Monday, April 30 at
the LaFollette Nursing home. She was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Hila Weaver Savage; and
brother Carline Savage.
She is survived by brother Estel Savage; sisters Thelma Godfrey and Pauline
Davidson all of LaFollette, and Elise Thornton of Kingston.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 2, at the Midway Baptist Church
with Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. Interment was held in the High Cliff
Cemetery.

JAMES HAROLD SMITH, 59, died Sunday, April 29, in Griffith, Ga. He was a
member of the County line Methodist Church in Griffin, Ga.
He was preceded in death parents Walter and Irene Roddy Smith.
He is survived Linda Mintz Smith; daughter Shana Leigh Smith both of Griffin,
Ga.; sons Russell Wayne Smith of Dahlonega, Ga., Jeffery Heath Smith of
Lawrenceville, Ga., Kelly Benson Smith of Crossville, Lance Edward Steele of
Griffin, Ga., James Anthony Trollinger of Cartersville, Ga.; and 4
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 2, in the chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ray Wilson officiating. Interment was
held in the Cumberland View Cemetery.

LARUA ADELE (Addie) STOOKSBURY, 15, of Caryville, died Thursday, St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell County. She was a member of the Jacksboro First
Baptist Church and a student at Campbell County High School.
She is survived by parents Dale and Sharon Stooksbury; brothers Robert Gray
and John Clark Stooksbury all of Caryville; and grandparents.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, at the First Baptist Church of
Jacksboro with Rev. William J. Smith and Dr. Charles Parker officiating.
Interment was held in the Jacksboro Cemetery.

JAMES CLYDE UNDERWOOD, 86, of 990 Knoxville Hollow Rd., LaFollette, died
Friday, April 27, at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was
a member of the Victory Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by parents; Arron and Parley Elizabeth Romines
Underwood; brothers John, Henry, and Charlie Underwood; sisters Minnie Goins,
and Ellen and Mary Underwood; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He is survived by wife Grace Ausmus Underwood; sons James Aaron Underwood,
Jr. and Haroldene Underwood; daughter Elizabeth Underwood all of LaFollette;
9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 29, in the chapel of Martin
Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Goins, Rev. Ovid Bolton, and Rev.
Howard Goins officiating. Interment was held in the Fincastle Cemetery.

PATRICIA LEE HUDDLESTON BACON, 58, of 429 Shaddow Rd., died Sunday, April 22,
at her residence. She was a former employee of North Electric. She was a
member of the Habersham Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by William Henry and Maude Ayers Huddleston.
She is survived by husband Terry Wayne Bacon; daughters Lorie Bacon Boone of
Gray and Amie Whitaker of Gray; step-daughter Terri Lynn Shepley
Jonesharaugh; step-mother Agnes Huddleston of Columbus, Ohio; sister Norma
Jean (Tootie) Harmon of Columbus, Ga.; brothers Wood Huddleston of Butler,
Tenn. and Gene Huddleston of Columbus, Ohio; and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 24 in Gray Chapel with Rev.
Byron Paddock officiating.

GERTRUDE CLOUGH DAVENPORT, 88, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Jellico,
passed away April 1, 2001.
She was a member of Northwood Baptist Church, she was the dearly beloved wife
of the late William "Bill" Davenport for 52 years.
She is survived by: sister, Elsie (Donald) Weeks of West Palm Beach, FL;
brothers, William (Pat) Clough of West Palm Beach, FL, Rev. G. Lloyd (Margot)
Clough of Mims, FL; sister-in-law, Genevieve Clough of West Palm Beach, FL
and care-givers, Don & Diane Weeks (nephew and niece), sister-in-law, Helen
Davenport; nieces & nephews, Marjorie Sikes, Steve & David Dupey, Betsy
Ellis, Mike & Steve Davenport and Dick Davenport.
Graveside services were held at 2 pm., Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Hillcrest
Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. G. Lloyd Clough and Rev. A. Scott Hutchison.
